Rules and information for the Swedish pike

The competition is organized in a way that includes everyone, regardless of conditions. It doesn't matter where you live, where you fish or what boat options you have. Everyone is welcome! The registration fees go directly to Sportfiskarna and various projects they carry out.

Please read the rules, if something is still unclear, don't hesitate to contact us.

● The Swedish Pike is a competition that should be accessible to everyone. Therefore, you can fish together with someone from another location, as a team, even if you fish in different lakes. Max. 3 participants in each team.

● The registration fee is 200:- per team, and this money goes entirely to charitable causes within Sportfiskarna. This amount cannot be claimed back after registration has been made. Registration is made under the "registration" tab.

● Tävlingsdatum: 28/10-2022, kl 08.00 - 16.00. Gäddor som rapporteras innan eller efter dessa klockslag kommer inte att räknas.

● Kl 07.55 på tävlingsdagen kommer ett nummer skickas ut på facebook (@Sverigegäddan) as well will appear in the Fishyapp. This number must be visible in the photo together with pike you report. The number can, for example, be written on a note that is held up, on a measuring board or on the hand. We do this to make sure that the pikes are really taken on the day of the competition.

● The pikes reported must be over 60 cm. The total length of the team's three longest pikes will be your final result.

● C&R must be conducted during the competition, and images where the pike is measured against surfaces that could damage the fish will lead to disqualification. Such surfaces could be, for example, a jetty, dry ground or a stone slab.

● The pikes should be photographed against a measuring board (or other suitable measuring equipment) together with the number that is sent out, both the number and the length of the pike should be clearly visible. It should also be photographed together with the catcher + number, the number should also be clearly visible there. It is important to measure the pike with its head towards 0.

● The competition officials are the judges in the competition, and decide whether the pikes have been treated correctly and whether the measurements you provide are correct. If cheating is suspected, the pike will not be counted. These decisions must be respected.

Reporting only takes place via the Fishyapp.

● If several teams end up with the same final result, it will be decided by the longest individual pike. If teams have the same length there as well, it will be decided by the time at which the longest pike was reported.

● Rules regarding the longest fish, if two people caught the same length, the one who reported the longest fish first wins.

● Fishing is permitted throughout Sweden, where it is permitted. If you fish in illegal waters, such as private areas, protected areas or play areas, you will be immediately disqualified. Of course, you must have a fishing license for the water where you choose to fish. Also remember to take into account private ramps and parking at the waters you visit.

● Allowed methods are hand gear, i.e. spinning, fly, vertical. Only one rod per participant is allowed. (Trolling & angling are not allowed)

● Prizes are awarded to the three best placed teams. A separate prize is also awarded for the longest pike of the competition. These prizes consist of items contributed by shops and bait makers, as the entry fees go to the Sportfiskarna.

● The competition management is not responsible for the participants' health or equipment during the competition.
