Pike NM 2023

Rules (Gjedde NM 2023)

Fishing takes place from a boat.
Pike must be fished with the 5 longest pikes counting together in the competition.
Ex. 60-65-70-75-80 = 350cm
There will also be an additional prize for the BIGGEST fish in the competition.
There is no minimum goal.
We have a maximum target of 75cm if anyone wants to take a pike home, otherwise everything must be put back neatly to preserve the fishing for the future.
Fishing time: 08:00-16:00
Captain's meeting: 07:20
Departure starting area: 07:45
Open class only with a maximum of 2 men per team
Everyone MUST wear a life jacket at all times.
Friday 25.08 & Saturday 26.08 will be a fishing ban. This was to give the fish and the water a few days of rest in order to have an optimal competition day. It is allowed to put the boat out and move to the camping area for those who want to come the day before to have the boat ready on the water before the day of the competition.

Fishing methods: Only spin fishing (casting from a boat) with artificial bait. Trolling/dorging is not allowed, nor fishing with live or dead bait.
You are only allowed to use one (1) rod per participant.
You are only allowed one (1) artificial bait at a time, no hangers or the like.
There must be a minimum of 40m between the boats. If this distance cannot be observed when passing, the speed must be reduced to a maximum of 5 knots. You are always allowed to pass each other, but make sure that this does not disturb the fishing of the team as you rest.
All fish that are caught must be measured immediately after capture, the fish can be kept in a net when it is prepared for measurement.
All boats/teams must have delivered the target board by 16:30

Start
All boats follow an escort boat out to the starting area at 07:45. At the FIRST starting signal at 07:59, we want a 5-knot rule for the first minute (60 sec). Until the SECOND starting signal at 08:00, all boats must follow this to spread out the field and create the least possible waves for smaller boats. This is incredibly important for safety on the water. In case of violation of the 5-knot restriction, the boat will be towed 30 cm in total length. Focus on safety at start, have a good overview and use common sense.

Painting of fish.
Only one person should measure the fish and have their hands on it.
Only the total length from the jaw to the longest point of the tail should be measured.
The head of the fish must always be turned to the left and the belly to the person painting. All fish that are not measured after this will be rejected.

The whole fish and target board must be in the picture.
When reporting, a picture of the fish on the target board and one of the fisherman with the fish must be sent.
Remember to check the quality of the image so that it becomes clear for the secretariat to verify the length and that the fish is close to the jaw.
The fish must touch the cm line to be counted, it does not need to cross the cm line.
All entries after 15:59:59 must be checked by the secretariat and a picture of the fish on the target board with a time stamp must be shown for checking.
In the event of misreporting or clear violations where the fish is not close to the jaw, possibly unclear, for verification, it will be pulled up to 5 cm, if necessary. the fish is rejected. Fish can be verified after the competition if better pictures are produced.
If violations are discovered, we ask that this be documented with pictures and/or video. Submitted to the secretariat as soon as possible and/or as soon as the competition ends. All inquiries that come after the prize distribution will not be followed up.
