Norrlandsgäddan Vår 2024
Rules (
Norrlandsgäddan Vår 2024
)Date and time: June 15th, competition time 08-17 Team competition 2-3 people / team.
Fishing in the same boat, not shore fishing.
Before the start, we will send out a number that will be included on the measurement pictures.
The competition area is what is geographically called Norrland including Dalarna which we southerners count as Norrland (see picture below if it is unclear, green area is ok)
You are allowed to fish in waters where either a permit, fishing right or fishing license is available. This will be checked both by random sampling and by the teams at the top.
Fishing without a fishing license or in illegal waters will result in disqualification. Your own measuring board must be used and may be checked if we ask for it. Reporting will be done via the Fishy App, there will be positioning during the competition as last year we had doubts regarding cheating.
Positions will not be shared under any circumstances and we run with low accuracy so only which area you are in is shown to the race management.
With these rules, we will be able to reduce the opportunities for cheating and fishing in illegal waters.
Several tackled rods may be in the boat.
Minimum size: Pike 75cm
Fishing with live echo sounder not allowed!
All competitors must wear a life jacket, buoyancy suit, buoyancy vest or other buoyancy garment at all times.
the boat leaves port until the boat is back in port. Applicable sea rules and speed regulations
must always be followed. In the event of an emergency, contact must always be made with the competition management as soon as possible.
You measure your 5 longest pikes.
Once you have received all the paperwork, you only report when there is an increase.
The initial centimeter is rounded down.
The measuring board must be placed flat and horizontal and the tail fin may be adjusted carefully with a finger but not pressed together as this may damage the fish. The fish must be placed carefully on the measuring board and the fish must not be pulled lengthwise. The fish may be held with one or if necessary two hands while the measurement and documentation are being made; one hand may not be kept on the tail fin (resulting in a 2 cm deduction).
When photographing, it must be clearly visible that the nose is against the edge (otherwise a 2 cm deduction is given) and that the length can be clearly determined.
If the total length is the same, the longest fish will decide.
Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 and the amount is based on the number of starting teams.
Reports will appear in the Fishy app continuously during the competition with hidden results for the last 2 hours.
