The prize table will be adjusted if there are fewer than 60 starters.

Fish Handling & Weighing

Fish are left at the designated location with a starting tag attached to the bag.

Weigh-in starts at 5:30 PM, the competition badge must be hung on the board no later than 5:30 PM.

The fish is measured and the tail fin is cut. The appeal regarding weight must be made no later than 10 minutes after the weigh-in to the competition management/judge. The largest fish will be checked by the judge during cleaning. A fee of 1500 SEK will be charged for protesting about weight.

Competition rules Väner Trolling Championships

● At least 2 people per team, at least 1 must be over the age of 18. If there is a need to change the crew, this must be approved by the competition management before the start.

● VHF mandatory. Communication is via channel 72.

● VHF communication EMERGENCY channel 16

● A life jacket or flotation suit must be available for everyone in the crew.

● Boat controls will be carried out by 2 boats / 40 starters. The following will

checked: Lanterns, VHF, number of rods, life jackets/floatation suits, Other storage spaces in the boat must also be checked to ensure that no fish are hidden. If these criteria are not met, teams may be denied the start.

● An emergency rocket in the boat is a request, but not a requirement.

● Alcohol consumption prohibited during the competition period. This applies to all in

the crew and violation is punished with exclusion.

● Visual checks will be carried out by the race management. The Coast Guard will

to be on site in the area to conduct spot checks regarding drunkenness.

● Average winds above 10 m/s mean that the competition may be cancelled or moved to run in a limited geography depending on wind direction.

● 4 hours of effective competition time will be considered the competition's final result if the competition has to be interrupted or cancelled.

● Mashing is prohibited.

● Max 10 baits fishing at the same time per boat.

● A maximum of 10 rods may be on the boat. If more rods are found during inspection, the boat will be excluded from the competition.

● Pole parades and sledges with pennants are allowed.

● Fishing with dead bait fish is permitted if done using known methods.

● Transfer of fish between teams and outside competitors is prohibited.

● Max 6 Salmon/Trout may be weighed in / day. Minimum length 62 cm.

● Salmon/trout under 60 cm or with an adipose fin must be promptly and carefully released when caught – Lake Vänern's regular fishing regulations apply to fishing and maritime traffic and must be followed. Fishing rules in Lake Vänern

● Teams that violate the rules will be disqualified immediately.

● Any rule violations must be reported to the referee immediately so that action can be taken before the competition is over for the day or no later than 10 minutes after the weigh-in is over.

● Points calculation 20p/fish and 10 points/kg.

● If a competition is cancelled due to severe weather, or thunder/fog, the fish reported in the Fishy live app will be counted within 10 minutes of the cancellation.

If any team cancels the competition to go home, this must be reported to the competition management, and the start tags must also be hung up.

NOTE: All competition is at your own risk, which means: Each participant is responsible for their own safety, their boat, equipment and navigation during the competition. The participant must follow applicable maritime rules, speed regulations and ordinary requirements for good seamanship.

The organizer is not responsible for damage to persons, boats or equipment that occurs due to the participants' actions or lack of boat condition/safety.
