The skipper's meeting starts at 4:30 PM. - mandatory presence of one person from each team (boat) at our stage in Gjøvik harbor. It is allowed to start from other harbors after that the chip has been collected after the skipper's meeting.

The competition is based on catch and release with a length-based scoring system. It is of course allowed to take fish home, but no fish will be judged on land and all registrations must be made via the Fishy Live app.

Max 4 rods in the boat. No spare rod or reel is allowed. Control will be carried out. The competition format is trolling, the boat must be in motion while fishing, there is no possibility of spinning or vertical fishing.

All bait fish must be from Mjøsa.

Remember to drive carefully and everyone must wear a life jacket, for boats under 8 meters. It is forbidden to consume alcohol during the competition. Visibly intoxicated people will be rejected and disqualified.

VHF channel 72. Use it wisely.

Use of lanterns is mandatory after dark.

Photos must be sent with the app and with the start tag on the fish. Not on the tail, but on the body. The fish must always be on its right side. Photos must also be saved on the phone and may not be deleted until the day after the Championships in case the secretariat needs them. It is acceptable for someone to hold the fish to keep it still, as long as the length of the fish is clearly visible. Take two photos per fish: One photo shows the whole fish and one photo shows the back half, both photos must have a visible start tag. Photos must be taken directly from above, no later than 10 minutes after the fish is taken - fish that have visible bedsores or other signs of having been dead for some time do not count. We measure in the middle of the tail. The tail should lie down on the plank with the tail in the middle of the plank. The tail should not be pinched. Everyone must have access to light/flash to take photos. Test with flash and flashlight before you catch a fish. (Practice – if you can't read your own picture, neither can the secretariat.) You will see whether the fish is approved or not in the app by the fish becoming visible to you in the results list – until the app goes into "dark mode" towards the end of the competition, which is again done to keep the excitement up until the prize giving which takes place at approximately 10 am on Sunday morning in Gjøvik harbour – the same place as the captains' meeting.

The length counts. We always round down to the nearest cm. The minimum size in the competition is 54 cm and only trout count. In the secretariat, 2 people judge the length of the fish independently of each other. In case of disagreement, the length is checked by a third person and the majority decides. In case of equal points, the longest fish wins. In case of equal length for the largest fish, the fish are judged according to the assumed K-factor, if this is not sufficient for judgment, the largest fish is decided by drawing lots.

Fish should be handled with care. Rubber nets are an advantage for the fish if they are to be released back into the wild. No fish will be judged on land!

Starter badge must be handed in before 09.30 to be included in the results list. Fishing time 15 hours. Photos must be sent via the app no later than 8:30 AM. If you have problems sending photos, please contact the secretariat no later than 08.30, but remember that the app saves photos and sends as soon as you have coverage as long as you DO NOT delete photos. The lucky loser prize will be drawn after the award ceremony. Personal presence otherwise it will be redrawn.

Jury.

Any unforeseen matters will be decided by the jury.

We appoint a jury from among the participants. 3 from the fishermen + plus NTF representatives Terje and Sverre Johan. The jury can exclude "bad pictures". The jury can also decide on problems with SIM cards etc. NOTE - even though we use an app from 2026, we still have scanning of pictures to detect "Photoshop" fishing.
