The Nordic River Pike Open, organized by the Nordic Freshwater Experience was decided last weekend and for the second year in a row.
The competition runs over two days at Umeälven Lycksele and attracted 21 teams to the start. Several really nice fish came up these days. On the first day, a really nice competition fish of 116 cm was landed by Daniel Schedin (Team Vazz) and on the second day an even bigger fish came up.
At 10:30 it really narrowed down for Niklas Wester (Team Joni). Up came a pike of 13100 grams and 124 cm.
With that fish it lasted all the way for Team Joni, Johnny Ågran and Niklas Wester who took home the competition with a total of 478 cm pike. In second place came Team Dumfiske (Elias Nilsson, Mattias Hjukström, Jonathan Österlind) with 458 cm and in third place Team Jaktia Piteå, Martin Ajnefelt Svedjeholm and Jens Jonsson 433 cm.
The competition has received very high marks for its qualitative arrangement and is highly recommended by the undersigned who was there the entire competition weekend!
